Cloak and Dagger is already a hit at Freeform.
The latest young-skewing Marvel drama debuted Thursday, June 7, and pulled in okay ratings in live + same day metrics.
The two-hour opener delivered 0.8 million viewers, and a 0.3 rating in the all-important adults 18-49 demographic.
These numbers are solid, but not spectacular. However, Freeform has released a statement in which it goes into detail about the delayed viewing, and the numbers jump significantly.
In total viewers, the numbers swelled to 1.64 million viewers with live + 3 figures factored in, making the series the highest rated debut on the network in two years.

That's also a 78 percent lift vs. the live + same day results, the highest ever lift for a Freeform series debut.
On the digital side of things, it was Freeform's most-watched series with 716,000 watching, which is also a record.
These numbers are spectacular when you consider the fact that Freeform is struggling in the ratings. Ever since the network changed the name from ABC Family, the ratings have been on the downside.
The official logline for the series reads:
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another.
Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
Freeform had success earlier this year with Siren, a brand new mermaid drama which was also a hit with delayed viewing factored in.

It scored a second season renewal with an expanded order. If Cloak and Dagger continues to keep up the pace, it will likely follow suit.
