Shadowhunters is done at Freeform.
While we've known that news for a few weeks, there has been much speculation about whether the series will have a closure-filled finale, or if there will be threads left dangling.
Thankfully, executive producer, Todd Slavkin hit up Twitter to respond to a fan who was concerned there was not enough time to end the series in a satisfying manner.
"It's not rushed. Not at all. It's beautiful. Thanks to the brilliant @ShadowhuntersWR if has to end like this, you all will be deeply satisfied," he shared, and even hashtagged the following:
"#malec #clace #sizzy #shadowhunters."
Because the cancellation came so late in the game, and Freeform only ordering a two-hour wrap up for the series, it makes sense that fans were worried about the lack of time to process the resolution.

“We are very proud of ‘Shadowhunters,’ a series that broke new ground in the genre world and became a fan favorite,” Freeform said in a statement at the time of the cancellation.
“However, along with our partners at Constantin, we reached the very difficult decision not to renew the show for a fourth season. But as big supporters and fans ourselves, Freeform insisted on and championed the filming of a special two-part finale that would give devoted fans a proper ending."
"The twelve episodes will air in spring of 2019. We want to thank our talented creators, producers, cast and crew along with our colleagues at Constantin for their hard work and dedication and to Cassie Clare for her incredible book series. We look forward to the final chapter of this breakthrough drama.”
