Bellamy Blake was always a hero to us, in fact his journey throughout The 100 is a constant reminder of that. There is no one who will sacrifice as much as Bellamy will, and probably already has.
But as we've heard many times over, six years changes a lot. It hasn't changed the way that Bellamy makes us feel, the amount of emotion that overflows when it comes to the way we care for this character.
Following an episode as dividing as The 100 Season 5 Episode 6, one thing is clear and that is that Bellamy means a lot to the audience.
Whether you believe that this new guarded Bellamy is the best one yet, or whether you are still waiting for the Bellamy that we saw going up to space, it is obvious that this character is getting plenty of well deserved attention.
Below is a slideshow for everyone that has stuck around to witness the hero that is Bellamy Blake, from the very first season to the currently airing fifth season.
1. The Time Bellamy Saved Clarke and Our Hearts With Only A Space Mug
To no one's shock, Sleeping Giants put Bellamy front and center in the most dramatic hero rescue of all time. Not only did he come prepared with the mug that had to be made for him, but he also offered Clarke the support she didn't know if she would ever get again. Bellamy made sure Madi was safe and then he threatened the lives of almost 300 people because Clarke is that important to him. Everything is fine though. It is all fine, so very fine.
2. The Time Bellamy Put Himself First
Being a hero isn't always about saving others, sometimes it really is about saving yourself. Hakeldama still had Bellamy at a low point but through this not so bright reunion with Clarke, he put himself first. After Clarke left in the second season finale, it was clear the way that her absence with take a toll on her partner, and Bellamy aired out exactly that. He allowed himself to feel and to be angry and to not once again sort of shove everything that was bothering him as if it didn't happen.
3. The Time Bellamy Reminded Clarke of Her Worth
These two idiots spent the whole fourth season talking about how neither of them deserved to survive, which is always when we would close our ears so we wouldn't have to hear those lies. This domestic scene allowed Bellamy to remind Clarke that there is no world he is willing to live in that doesn't have her in it. I'm not going to mention how ironic that turned out to be considering the current state of their relationship in Season 5.
4. The Time Bellamy Risked Everything For His People, Including His Character Development
Remember that one time that Bellamy climbed a ridiculous amount of stairs on an injured leg to save his people? This wasn't anything new except that it turned out that he was wrong, although you can't really blame him because he got some bad information. It is fine now, six years have passed and Gina and his people are dead so no harm no foul. But really, no matter what came from this, the important part will always be the way that Bellamy wore his heart on his sleeve for his people.
5. The Time Bellamy Had Unwavering Support in Emori
Emori was the true hero when it came to getting them all down to the ground, with some special appreciation for Raven who was stayed behind so they didn't have to. But the way that Bellamy was there to offer calming words of encouragement was precious. None of us should sleep on this friendship, in fact please give us more of these two!
6. The Time Bellamy Risked Everything For His People Again and Adopted Another Child
The end of the world was coming, yet that didn't mean that their people that Azgeda kept as slaves had to be sacrificed to the cause. Bellamy risked their chance at surviving Praimfaya but at the end of the day their people were home. This was greatly appreciated by a little girl that saw firsthand why Bellamy Blake was the stuff of great novels where the hero saves the day.
