The Sinner Season 3 Trailer: Matt Bomer Has a Warning for Chris Messina

This is Chris Messina like we've never seen him before.

USA Network has dropped the official trailer for The Sinner Season 3, and Messina is one of the new stars for this third chapter.

Seriously though, Messina's character looks like the scariest one we've witnessed on this mind-bending series thus far.

Messina plays Nick, an adversary for Matt Bomer's Jamie.

The Sinner 3 follows Detective Harry Ambrose as he investigates a tragic car accident in upstate New York. As the case unfolds, Ambrose “uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career,” according to the official logline.

Nick is Jamie's college friend who arrives in town to pay Jamie a visit he will surely never forget.

The trailer does seem to imply that Jamie is being ruled as the killer while Nick could be the unfortunate victim.

There's no definite confirmation, but given that Jamie is the one hauled in for questioning, it certainly seems like Nick has met his maker.

The teases of Nick taunting Jamie certainly builds a case against Jamie, and there's one point in which Bomer's alter ego bites back with a stern warning.

Nick knows a lot about Jamie's past, and that could come to the forefront if he sticks around for too long.

The cast of the third chapter also includes Parisa Fitz-Henley (Midnight, Texas) as Leela Burns, Jamie’s wife, Jessica Hecht (The Affair) as Sonya, a painter who gets involved in the investigation following the freak accident, and Eddie Martinez (Orange Is the New Black) as Vic Soto, a former Marine-turned-detective who works helps Ambrose to solve the case.

There is no firm premiere date as of yet, but we do know the series will be back sometime in 2020.
