Karen David is headed to Mystic Falls.
Per Deadline, the former Galavant actress has joined Legacies, the spinoff of The Originals and The Vampire Diaries as a witch.
David will take on the role of Emma Tig, a "beautiful witch-turned-guidance counselor" at the Salvatore School for the Young & Gifted.
The report also states that the "person who needs her therapy the most (the headmaster) remains an elusive patient."
The headmaster of the school is none other than Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis), who has not had the best time of it ever since we first laid eyes on him back on The Vampire Diaries Season 1.

Yes, that means it's been nine years since we first met Alaric! If you watch The Vampire Diaries online, you know that he loses everyone he loves.
With his two daughters being twins in the Gemini coven, they are at risk of being hunted down. We already know that Candice King will not be appearing on the new series as Caroline, at least, not initially.
It was previously reported that Caroline would be away trying to secure the future of her daughters the only way she knows how.
It's certainly a good plot to allow King some time to see if she can fit the grueling production schedule for the show into her life.
Actors generally want to move on from the same role after many years, so it's understandable that she would be hesitant about appearing.
It was confirmed recently that Zach Roerig and Steven R. McQueen would be showing up on the spin-off as Matt Donovan and Jeremy Gilbert, respectively.

Meanwhile, Paul Wesley, who played Stefan Salvatore will be directing an episode of the series which is slated to air this fall.
In addition to starring on Galavant, David has also appeared on Once Upon a Time, Criminal Minds and Barry.
Legacies debuts October 25 on The CW!
