Stephen Amell has booked his first post-Arrow TV role.
The actor, who will have starred on Arrow for all eight seasons when it comes to a close in 2020 has been added to the cast of Heels, an 8-episode drama series about the men and women who try to beat the odds in the world of small-town pro wrestling.
The series is set in a close-knit Georgia community, and follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals — one of them played by Amell — do battle over their late father’s legacy.

In the ring, however, somebody must play the good guy, and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel.
Away from the confines of the ring, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind.
Amell is on board as Jack aka the Heel. Away from the ring, he's a husband and father who is trying to make ends meet.
He knows his dreams and aspirations border on impossible to achieve, but that's not to say he's going to stop chasing them.

He'll do whatever it takes to keep his dream alive.
It was revealed earlier this year that Amell would be saying goodbye to Arrow after a ten-episode eighth and final season, which is slated to debut in October.
Playing a superhero for eight seasons, it makes sense for Amell to want to branch out and flex his acting muscles as a character who seems to be a complete 180 from Oliver Queen.
It's certainly great news that he won't be taking an extended break from screens because he is a great actor with many fans.
