If there's one takeaway from the first trailer for Netflix's The Politician, it's that the series is going to be must-watch TV.
"Payton Hobart (Ben Platt), a wealthy student from Santa Barbara, California, has known since age seven that he's going to be the President of the United States," reads the official logline.
"But first he'll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School."

"To get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success, Payton will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and carefully crafted image."
"Full of dark comedy and sly satire, Ryan Murphy's The Politician offers a rare glimpse into just what it takes to make a politician."

With the dark comic tone, it's clear that there's going to be a lot of drama as these people will go to great lengths in order to prove they have what it takes.
The trailer certainly shows off just how far these people are willing to go. The possibilities appear to be endless.
The series will benefit from that dark humor that has made previous Ryan Murphy series such big hits.
